FYI - The principals at this company (formerly SpeedTrak) are mostly the same
people who developed the Netsys routing simulation/modeling and config checking
software that was acquired by Cisco, and now is offered by WANDL.

I continue to not be surprised at the number of people who just plain
don't pay attention to RFCs.

I believe they are just a licensee of RealNames.
So while http://somedumbcompany.lame might work in Internet Explorer
5.0+
Try telnetting to somedumbcompany.lame:25. They won't get email, EVER.
This company is even more bogus then new.net. At least new.net is
/trying/ to use dns.

We should expect to see more of these crop up. Through closed
doors and other unfriendly policies, ICANN has screwed us but
good -- and we let them.
ObOperationalContent: what methods do y'all use for disseminating
info like "watch out for this new stupidity" to your front-line
tech support folks? How about for companies that outsource their
support? Is it even worth trying?
"XTNS' Domain Namespace System is based on a license with RealNames
Corporation and works with their technology which is built in to the
Microsoft Internet Explorer browser worldwide. Because Microsoft IE (5.0
and above) is used by over 88% of Internet users around the globe - that's
over 360million people - XTNS namespaces can be viewed and used by
virtually everyone, everywhere."
No way. No F%&#%&g way!
Definate, without a ^&*# doubt, a real live .BOMB!

How unforunate it would be if they had a name space clash.

'nuff said. This is no different than internet keywords, and likely to make
about as big a splash. *zzzzz*

Even better, from the same page:
<blah blah web-based mail from within IE> ... "We like to think of this
forthcoming feature as I-Email."
I can't tell if they're trying to make a pun, or if they're having a
buzzword^H^H^H^Hletter collision.
