Are there problems with the list today?
It appears that I'm getting responses sent to the list
quite delayed -- upwards to 45 minutes this evening...
What gives?

Google had a dns outage of some sort, that caused at least a few of
their pages (search engine etc) to be redirected elsewhere, and gmail
not to resolve ..
