MX10003 rack size

Hi,

Has anyone ever managed to fit a Juniper MX10003 in a 90cm deep rack? Without applying power tools to either the rack or the router

Cheers,

Hi,

No.

In my case, MX10003 needs 13cm gap between front-door and fron-panel,
and needs 10cm gap between back-door and back-panel.

You need at least 120cm depth.

you can install 90cm depth rack if without cabling, never power-on

thanks,

... but... but the sales blurb says: "Space and Power Optimized
Provides advanced power-saving features in a small form factor to help
contain OpEx and ensure exceptional efficiency."

Ah. Yes, if you never power it on, it has awesome OpEx, and
exceptional efficiency... solved!

1000mm deep. APC AR3100 racks are 600mm x 1070mm. APC also makes 1200mm deep ones, and 750mm wide ones, and both together.

Unsure as to why this was cross-posted, but...

Many vendors do these sizes now. 600x1200 is rather useful when you have
meter-long servers and need to get four 0U PDUs in at the back.

Neatly fits on to common 600mm² footprints, too.

I quite liked 750mm APCs, but last I looked I recall that they've
shifted to 800mm wide now?

Instead of having to do 4x750 racks in 5x600 footprints to line them up,
you can now do 3x800 racks in 4x600 footprints. Fewer snowflake racks
messing up the rack/footprint alignment, and you get more room per rack.

Hi,

here it does fit in 600x1000 racks (APC & Minkels), with everything plugged, airfilter/frontpanel installed, doors closed.
Front door / front rails / rear rails / rear door: 15cm / 72cm / 12cm

I can confirm those measurements. We have installed two MX10003 routers in 100cm racks. As long as the rack posts are in the right place and the doors allow airflow you'll be fine. The 72cm between front and rear posts is what the specs say, but IIRC anything down to 63cm or so will work.
