I have been tasked to get the best IDS and IPS for our internal LAN
and WAN
in a Banking infrastructure.
I would like ask if any one has deployed in any network with such
technology, and also if any one can recommend
a very good IDS and IPS for me to recommend to management

ISS (acquired by IBM) is a verry strong product and you should look at
it. We ran a demo/pilot od ISS in our production network for a couple of
monthes and were pleased with it.
Junipers IDP is another product to look at. I am currently running IDP
and it was a better fit than ISS for us.
