How to Handle Streaming Services that Misattribute VPN traffic

I have noticed some customers are seeing streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and HBO getting error messages stating they are using a VPN or proxy on any devices on their home network when they are actually not.

Moving the affected customers to a new public IP address for their home router fixes the issue, but it has only been a day or so since these have occurred & we are just checking to see if there is a known issue like this that we are unaware of.

We haven’t reached out to anyone at the streaming services for support as it doesn’t seem to be related to a single one: all three seemed to be affected. In regards to that does anyone have a specific test case to check against?

@tcoomer I think the customers’ IPs may have been flagged by the streaming services’ anti VPN systems; You can try checking the IP reputation through tools like IP2Location or MaxMind.
