> Note that having world-wide input into NANOG kind of defeats its purpose.
Bill,
It would really make sense to have a heirarchy of ops lists, as there are
events/issues that have world-wide significance, and those that are more
regional in nature. It is the lack of these that results in the 'misuse'
of NANOG (plus the fact that most routes still transit the USA :-|).

Well, it sort of exists already.
zanog - (south)Africa
nanog - North America
eof - European
apops - Asia/Pacific
Leaving out South America (onlybecauseIdon'tknow)
The iepg list covers global coordination, at least from it's CCIRN
roots.
zanog - (south)Africa (do not have it with me)
nanog - North America nanog@merit.edu
eof - European eof-list@ripe.net
apops - Asia/Pacific apops@apnic.net
enredo - Latin America enredo@reacciun.ve
I've heard rumors of another ops list in the Mid-East/Gulf States.

In Korea, we have nog@nog.or.kr, and a home page at http://www.nog.or.kr.
However, everything is written in Korean, so it is probably of marginal
interest to most NANOG folks...
Our Korean NOG tends to meet every other month (schedule generally
depends on the host), almost always in Seoul.
In Japan, as presented in NANOG11, we have JANOG meeting 2 times a year,
everything is discussed in Japanese though.
(Next meeting will be in Kyoto 18 December 1998) http://www.janog.gr.jp

Thank you for this introduction, KOYAMA-san.
Please contact JANOG at secretariat@janog.gr.jp , instead of
ARANO-san privately :-), thank you.

Yes, that's true. And we are planning to invite some people from
outside Japan in future JANOG meetings.
Languages are different, but technologies are common!

Here's a summary and some more list. I've dug through my address book to get
some more of the ISP Ops list from Asia. Still poking around for more - in
case anyone knows of others - hint hint
URLs and other information would be useful. I'll post the summaries.
