whois database not being updated...

Has anyone noticed that the whois database is not showing updates to objects?

What I mean is, although it shows...

Database last updated on 27-Mar-99 16:27:44 EST.

...objects are not showing up in the database.

Example:

We received confirmation on one of our clients domains:

John_M_Brown · March 29, 1999, 9:46am

Its become common practice for NSI to not update the Whois in
a timely fashion..

Dig and other tools are your friend to see if its live in the
world....
