Yes, I realize these things. Shift your time frame and think back. I was

it's going to take more than one (or a hundred) data points to counter human
nature (which is competitive, rather than cooperative). I guess I'm just a
little too cynical to believe that the spirit of cooperation is enough to
counter corporate greed, malicious activity and general cluelessness. Maybe
I'll see something one of these days that will restore my faith in the general
population. *shrug*

Folks,

Sad to say, but about a month ago, Friends and Partners was hacked to death. Not sure where the hacker was, but evidence points to a non-U.S. origin. It took the SysAdmin an entire week, almost around-the-clock, to re-construct it. It now runs on MacOS X rather than Linux.

That's fascinating, but their page describing their setup says that they've
been running Solaris on the frontend, with the database generated on Macs,
since 1998.
