Fwd: Fw: HOST IRR Retirement

I tried sending the below message from my work account, but it’s not a nanog subscriber, so the email was rejected. If anyone doubts the authenticity, feel free to reach out to me at rtajvar@365datacenters.com.

Hello Ross , I do not see a host name or IP4or6 in the below .
     Hth , JimL

From List of Routing Registries

Registry Name (Source): HOST
IP address or DNS name: rr.host.net
Ftp site: ftp://ftp.host.net/host/dbase
Databases Mirrored: ALTDB, AOLTW, APNIC, ARIN, EPOCH, LEVEL3, PANIX, RADB, REACH, RIPE
Mirror Port and Info: rr.host.net, port 43
Whois Location: rr.host.net
Type of Primary Data: Host.net customers and general Internet community
Contact Info: db-admin@host.net
NOC Info: noc@host.net

The better question is, how do you authenticate Ross' email, and how do you authenticate the... not the contents, but the authenticity & accuracy of the meaning of the email?
I suppose you don't have to - at some point they'll just turn it off and then we'll all know the email was legit :-).

As to Ross' question: IIRC there exists, or existed at one time, a private(?) mailing list for IRR operators. I would start with radb@merit.edu, if that address still works. I can also reach out to the folks running the CANARIE IRR to see if they know, if necessary.
