i've seen queues backing up because the bank of 1200 bps modems weren't
enough, and queues backed up because a series of 400Meg messages kept failing
halfway through delivery.

Doesn't anyone here recall the infamous OSU/Compuserve ftp-by-mail
debacle...???

It totally killed OSU's mail system.

by applying a Net-trueism; he wrote the backlog off to 9-track
tapes and DROVE them across town....

almost suggests a real world use for the Avian Carrier system, maybe its
not an April fool after all.. !

i hope Karl added the appropriate smtp headers...
